Walk With a Doc Program to Focus on Cancer Care
Upcoming walk will be held at Flaget Memorial Hospital Walking Trail
Bardstown, Ky. (June 2, 2016)— Lace up your walking shoes! It’s time for some fresh air, fun and fitness at Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health. The facility will host its monthly Walk With a Doc program on Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at the hospital’s walking trail.
Monte E. Martin, MD, medical director, KentuckyOne Health Cancer Care at Flaget Memorial Hospital, will lead participants on a walk while discussing cancer care. The hospital hosts the monthly walks on the second Saturday of each month.
Each month, the Walk With a Doc event features a different healthcare provider and health topic. Participants engage in a heart-healthy walk while having the chance to ask health professionals medical questions in a comfortable, casual setting.
The walk series is part of a nationwide program that inspires people to improve their health through physical activity while exercising side-by-side with health care providers. Walkers have the opportunity to expand their knowledge on important health topics.
