Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Welcomes First Baby of 2017
Mt. Sterling, Ky. (January 6, 2017) - Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, part of KentuckyOne Health, welcomed its first baby of 2017 at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2017.
Jordan Vanlandingham and Quinton Tufano from Mt. Sterling welcomed Vinny Dale Tufano. He weighed 5 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 inches long.
Each year, hospital staff work with local businesses to create a welcome wagon for the first baby born in the New Year, including gift certificates, diapers, wipes and assorted gifts.
"The arrival of the first baby born in the New Year is highly anticipated," said Shelly Sanders, Nurse Manager, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Birthing Center. "Each year, we look forward to working with local businesses to help make this arrival so special for the family."
Saint Joseph Mount Sterling delivered 236 babies in 2016.
