Saint Joseph London Hosts Go Red For Women Heart Health Awareness Luncheon
London, Ky. (February 6, 2015)— As part of the national effort to increase awareness of cardiovascular disease in women, Saint Joseph London, part of KentuckyOne Health, is partnering with the American Heart Association and the Laurel County Public Library to host a Go Red for Women Lunch & Learn event on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at noon at the Library.
The free event will feature Christina Cabral-Pauig, MD, a cardiologist with KentuckyOne Health Cardiology Associates. Dr. Cabral-Pauig will present the keynote address focused on women’s heart health—including heart attack signs and symptoms, risk factors and tips for prevention. Complimentary lunch will also be provided.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women, but only one in five American women believe that heart disease is her greatest health threat. A staggering 90 percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease. Heart disease accounts for more than 30 percent of Kentucky’s deaths in recent years.
Additional information on the benefits of nutrition and exercise, as well as, diabetes prevention and management will also be available. This Go Red for Women event is held as part of a year-long series of health related sessions titled “Bite Size Learning”.

The Laurel County Public Library is located at 120 College Park Drive in London. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the program from noon to 1:00 p.m.
