Saint Joseph Berea Hosts
Go Red For Women Heart Health Luncheon

Berea, Ky. (February 5, 2016)— As part of the national effort to increase awareness of heart disease in women, Saint Joseph Berea, part of KentuckyOne Health, and the American Heart Association will host a Go Red for Women Lunch & Learn event on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berea College Baird Lounge.

The free event will feature Cristina Cabral-Pauig, MD, of KentuckyOne Health Cardiology Associates, who will give a presentation entitled “Let’s Talk About your Heart, Ladies!” Special guest Laurie Roelofs, First Lady of Berea College, will also be present.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women, but only one in five American women believes that heart disease is her greatest health threat. A staggering 90 percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.

The Berea College Baird Lounge is located in the Alumni Building on the corner of Prospect and Scaffold Cane in Berea. Preregistration and free health screenings will begin at 11:30 a.m. Free screenings will include cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation. Event parking will be marked with signs located at Boone Tavern.

The event is free and open to the public. Details or reservations can be obtained by calling 859.986.6535. Guests are asked to RSVP to the event by Feb. 12.
