Our Lady of Peace to Host Free Seminar Focused on
Making a Successful Transition to Middle School
Lexington, Ky. (April 11, 2018) — Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, will hold an upcoming free seminar to help parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors and other concerned adults, understand issues that may arise as students transition from elementary to middle school. The seminar will take place on Thursday, April 19 from 6-7 p.m. at Glendover Elementary School, located at 710 Glendover Road in Lexington.
The seminar will address a variety of issues, including social media, developing positive relationships, and bullying. The seminar will also focus on the stages of development, what emotional changes may be taking place during this transition, and how a parent can foster independence and also provide limits.
The speaker for the seminar is Morgan McGill, a licensed professional counseling associate with Our Lady of Peace. McGill works in the Lexington area with children, adolescents and adults that are in crisis.
This seminar is part of the 2018 Peace for Parents educational series. Through the program, Our Lady of Peace experts host educational seminars to help parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors and others who want to learn more about how to face challenging issues with children and adolescents. The seminars usually last an hour.
