KentuckyOne Health Weight Loss and Surgery Associates Adds General and Laparoscopic Surgeon Thomas Schory

Bardstown, Ky. (December 18, 2015) – Thomas Schory, MD, FACS, has joined KentuckyOne Health Weight Loss and Surgery Associates located at 4359 New Shepherdsville Road, Suite 245 in Bardstown. The office was recently voted “Best in Customer Service” for 2015.

Schory, a general and laparoscopic surgeon, comes to KentuckyOne with more than 8 years of experience, much of it in the Central Kentucky area. Most recently, he was employed at Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox.

Schory completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was appointed chief administrative resident for UAB Surgical Residency during his final year. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Vanderbilt University. He is also a graduate of Elizabethtown High School.

Schory is skilled in laparoscopic surgery, implant-based breast reconstruction, abdominoplasty and panniculectomy.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

He is married to wife Leigh Anne and has two children, T.J. and Elizabeth. He enjoys spending time with his family, and has coached his son’s sports teams (basketball, baseball, and soccer).

He is also active in his local church, serving as director of missions, and has travelled to Honduras, Haiti, India and Missouri on short-term mission trips. He is a leader of his bible study and serves as an elder at the church.
