KentuckyOne Health Names Bruce Tassin CEO for Future Organization
Lexington, Ky. (November 3, 2017) – KentuckyOne Health is pleased to announce new leadership to guide the organization for the future. Bruce Tassin will serve as Chief Executive Officer for KentuckyOne Health and continue his role as president of Saint Joseph Hospital, which he has held since 2015. Bruce will lead Kentucky-based operations of the recently expanded Southeast Operating Division for Catholic Health Initiatives.
“Under Bruce’s leadership, KentuckyOne Health delivered on its promise to provide safe, high quality and innovative care to the people of Kentucky,” said Larry Schumacher, senior vice president of operations for Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), Southeast Operating Group. “As we transition to place a greater emphasis on the central and eastern parts of Kentucky, I look forward to Bruce extending his passion for patient-centered care and service to the community.”
With more than 27 years as a hospital and health system administrator, Bruce has experience developing and implementing successful strategic plans, achieving improved quality measures and guiding increased financial growth. Above all, Bruce is committed to the communities he serves; the patients, caregivers, employees and physicians. Bruce has spent much of his career in faith-based health systems, previously with CHRISTUS Health System before he and his family moved to Lexington. Bruce earned both a B.S. and M.B.A. from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
“KentuckyOne Health is committed to compassionate and innovative care for the patients we serve. Bruce’s proven track record at Saint Joseph Hospital and his connection to this community demonstrates that we have a leader who will deliver on these promises,” said Jane Chiles, Chair of the KentuckyOne Health Board of Directors. “I look forward to working with Bruce and his leadership team to serve our patients, community partners, employees and physicians.”
As CEO of KentuckyOne Health, Bruce’s responsibilities will grow beyond Lexington to include:
· Flaget Memorial Hospital (Bardstown)
· Saint Joseph Berea
· Saint Joseph East (Lexington)
· Saint Joseph Hospital (Lexington)
· Saint Joseph Jessamine (Nicholasville)
· Saint Joseph London
· Saint Joseph Mount Sterling
· Our Lady of Peace (Louisville)
· KentuckyOne Health Partners Clinically Integrated Network
· KentuckyOne Health Medical Group provider practices in central/eastern Kentucky and Bardstown
“I am honored and humbled to take on this expanded role within KentuckyOne Health to lead a long-term strategy of excellence in health care,” noted Bruce Tassin. “There is a proud legacy across the organization, along with a passion at all levels to improve care in the community. We are fueled by the same faith of our foundresses, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, to open Lexington’s first hospital 140 years ago. Today we are still leading the way, developing new treatments and turning our faith into results for our patients and our communities.”
While Bruce focuses on the future organization, Chuck Neumann will continue his role as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer for KentuckyOne Health, leading the divesting operations, primarily in the Louisville region including:
· Jewish Hospital
