Community Partners to Announce New Violence Prevention Initiative
A new violence prevention initiative will be announced, designed to address and prevent violent crime in West Louisville. Following a year with much attention focused on the spike in violent crime in Louisville, this initiative brings together a coalition, including KentuckyOne Health, to help young adults from nine west Louisville neighborhoods.
The program will help link adult survivors of violent gun and knife injuries treated at University of Louisville Hospital, the region’s only Level 1 trauma center, to community resources. The coordinated effort to decrease violence is intended to promote healthy choices and avoid further injury or involvement with law enforcement.
