Bourbon & Bluegrass Holiday Bash Raises $90,000
to Benefit Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation
Funds raised at holiday party will enhance cancer care services at Flaget Memorial Hospital

Bardstown, Ky. (December 20, 2017) – The Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation, part of KentuckyOne Health, hosted the Bourbon & Bluegrass Holiday Bash, presented by Beam Suntory, on Saturday, December 9 at the Jim Beam American Stillhouse in Clermont. The bash raised more than $90,000 for cancer care services at Flaget Memorial Hospital, and the event sold out in advance.

“This event is a great way to not only celebrate the holiday season, but support cancer patients in our community,” said Leslie Smart, president, Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation. “The support we received at this event will help save many lives, and for that we are grateful.”

Funds raised at the Bourbon & Bluegrass Holiday Bash will support Project Hope, a fundraising effort to expand the Flaget Cancer Center, and to bring 3D mammography to the hospital. As early detection is key to successful treatment, 3D mammography improves breast cancer detection rates and decreases callbacks, which lessens anxiety for patients. This will allow KentuckyOne Health to better care for those battling cancer.

During the event, guests enjoyed specialty holiday cocktails, live Bluegrass music, bourbon tastings, Kentucky-inspired cuisine, and a live auction.
