Stephanie Howard Joins CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center at Blazer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 1, 2022) – Stephanie Howard, APRN, has joined CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center at Blazer Parkway in medical oncology. For nearly 14 years, Howard has built experience dedicated to providing specialized patient care, covering family medicine as well as cancer, weight loss and addiction recovery patients.

“I went into nursing because I love people and taking care of them. I love being able to help in any way I can,” said Howard. “You never know whose life you have touched. Hopefully I have touched someone’s life in my career.”

Howard graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1995. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama in 2006, and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Kentucky in 2008.

She began her career as a staff nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., then moved into practice as an APRN at Highlands Cancer Center in Prestonsburg. She has also served patients at several addiction recovery centers and in family medicine throughout eastern Kentucky. She is happy to return to serving cancer patients.

Howard’s goal is to help her patients reach their milestones. “I’ve seen people overcome cancer and watch their children graduate when they didn’t think they would when they were first diagnosed,” she said. “It is exciting for me and for them to be able to see their milestones in life when they thought it wasn’t going to happen.”

Howard’s patient care philosophy revolves around two things – happiness and health. “I want my patients to live the happiest life they can have and the healthiest life they can.”

Howard resides in Richmond with her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends, family and church family, gardening and traveling.
