CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in London Adds New Provider Committed to Community Care

LONDON, Ky. (September 27, 2023) – CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in London announces the addition of Sarah Logan, PA-C, to its team of caregivers. As a physician assistant (PA), Logan brings a strong commitment to serving the community. Born and raised in Corbin, Kentucky, her health care roots run deep. Logan’s parents have dedicated their careers to medicine, with her father serving as a radiology director and her mother retiring as a registered nurse. Growing up, she witnessed firsthand the impact health care professionals have on communities, inspiring her to follow in her parents' footsteps.

“My entire life, I’ve been immersed in the world of medicine,” said Logan. “With both my parents working in health care, it’s more than a profession; it is a lifelong passion.”

Logan’s journey toward becoming a PA was ignited by a personal experience involving her family. As a teen, her sister faced perplexing health issues. A PA who made a pivotal discovery inspired Logan to embark on a similar path.

"The physician assistant role has a special place in my heart,” said Logan. When my sister faced a health challenge at 19, it was a PA who made a profound difference in her health and our lives. That inspired my journey toward this role."

Logan says one of her core passions is to provide quality health care to underserved areas, as she fully understands the unique challenges these communities face in accessing care and is determined to be part of the solution.

“Providing quality care to the community where I grew up is of utmost importance to me,” said Logan. “It's a way to give back and ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, receives the health care they deserve.”

Logan earned her Master of Science in physician assistant studies from University of the Cumberlands, where she completed 15 months of didactic coursework followed by 11 months of comprehensive clinical rotations. Those rotations covered a wide spectrum of specialties, including gastroenterology, family medicine, and internal medicine. This training equipped her with the knowledge and skills needed to address diverse health care needs. Logan also holds certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and pediatric advanced life support.

Logan is a firm advocate for strong patient-provider relationships built on trust and open communication. While acknowledging that she may not have all the answers at once, she says she is committed to collaborating with her patients to find the best solutions and provide top-quality health care.

“My patient care philosophy revolves around creating a safe, non-judgmental space, and in that space, patients are not just heard but are valued,” said Logan.

Beyond her professional commitments, Logan has been married for two years and recently bought a home in Keavy, Kentucky. She and her husband share their lives with a beloved furry family member and have a shared love for the great outdoors.

Logan is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in London, located at 175 City Hill Drive. To make an appointment, call 606.877.2050.
