Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Honors Three Nurses with Daisy Awards - Archived
Mount Sterling, Ky. (July 17, 2019) — Saint Joseph Mount Sterling recently named three winners of the Daisy Award, recognizing nurses for exceptional patient care. Award winners include Amber Christopher, RN, Women’s Services, Ryan Farthing, RN, Intensive Care Unit, and Brandi Lawson, RN, Emergency Department.
The Daisy Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is proud to be a Daisy Award Partner.
Christopher was nominated for the award by a co-worker for her eagerness to learn and work wherever she is needed, and for her consistently conscientious and compassionate nature.
“Amber always has a positive attitude and demonstrates a willingness to help anywhere, any shift and at any time,” said one co-worker. “Her eagerness and enthusiasm are such an asset to Women’s Services.”
Farthing has been nominated for the award four times by patients and their family members. One patient and his family described Farthing’s treatment as, “extremely professional, while going above and beyond his duties to ensure the patient and their family were cared for at all hours.”
Another patient said, “Ryan was the best nurse I have ever had. I will forever be grateful to him.”
Lawson was nominated for the award by a co-worker for her helpful, supportive and caring attitude. She is always quick to respond to serious patient care situations and often demonstrates to others how to resolve them, even in the toughest circumstances.
“Brandi is the go-to nurse in the Emergency Department because of her diplomacy and ability to handle difficult situations,” said a co-worker. “She is respected by physicians and colleagues, offers suggestions for improvement, and readily assists others.”
The Daisy Award winners were each recognized with certificates and other items of appreciation given by their departments.
