Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Honors Outstanding Staff With Employee, Leader of the Year Awards
MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2020) – Saint Joseph Mount Sterling has announced the 2019 Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year award recipients. Patricia “Annie” Campbell, RN, coordinator, Stroke and Chest Pain, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, was presented with the Employee of the Year award, and Sister Janet Carr, manager, Mission Services, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, earned the Leader of the Year award.
Saint Joseph Mount Sterling annually recognizes one outstanding Employee of the Year who demonstrates the core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence. This year’s recipient, Annie Campbell, was nominated by Jenny Chism, MSN, RN, interim vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling.
“Saint Joseph Mount Sterling has been fortunate to have Annie on staff for more than six years now,” said Chism. “She is constantly recognizing her colleagues for a job well done, so it’s timely and well-deserved that she is now receiving recognition of her own. We are lucky to have such a creative, compassionate and kind team member.”
Most notably, Campbell coordinates Saint Joseph Mount Sterling’s Stroke and Chest Pain Care services, and recently received a Stroke Ready Certification with zero deficiencies. She continues to independently educate herself on health care best practices to ensure Saint Joseph Mount Sterling provides the community with the highest level of patient care.
Similarly, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling annually presents one employee serving in a managerial position with the Leader of the Year award. Selection criteria include an outstanding demonstration of leadership led by CHI Saint Joseph’s core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence. This year’s recipient, Sister Janet, was nominated by Jennifer Nolan, president, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling.
“Over the last nine years, Sister Janet’s contributions to our company culture and community care have been immeasurable,” said Nolan. “Whether she’s caring for patients and their families during difficult times, or leading an internal Spirit Team meeting, her deep conviction to lead with honesty and respect shines through all of her interactions. Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is a better place because of Sister Carr’s continued contributions.”
Sister Janet is an active member of the local community, and constantly looks for new ways to involve Saint Joseph Mount Sterling in community events and sponsorships. She is committed to meeting organizational goals, inspiring her colleagues, and constantly looking for new, creative ways to improve both patient and employee experiences.
Both award winners were recognized during a ceremony at the hospital.
