Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Awarded Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission - Archived

Mount Sterling, Ky. (April 30, 2019) – Saint Joseph Mount Sterling has earned Sleep Center Accreditation from The Joint Commission by demonstrating continuous compliance with its nationally recognized standards and a commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.

Physicians at CHI Saint Joseph Health have developed a unique program that allows for the comfortable and efficient treatment of sleep disorders. Our sleep specialists provide day and night sleep studies at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, sleep deprivation, periodic limb movement disorder, nocturnal behaviors (sleep walking, talking and eating in sleep, acting out dreams) disorders and narcolepsy.

The Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation Program encourages high quality patient care in all types of freestanding ambulatory care facilities, such as the sleep program. Saint Joseph Mount Sterling underwent a rigorous period of preparation for accreditation, followed by an unannounced onsite visit in which a Joint Commission surveyor with expertise in ambulatory health care and sleep medicine evaluated compliance with ambulatory care standards related to a variety of areas, including coordination of care, monitoring for procedures that involve use of sedation or anesthesia, infection prevention and control, management of medications, and patient education and training.
