Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation to Host 31st Annual STARS Gala - Archived

Lexington, Ky. (November 5, 2019) — Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation will host its 31st Annual STARS Gala on the evening of Saturday, November 9. Funds raised from the annual event will benefit the Emergency Department Renovation Project at Saint Joseph Hospital. The gala will take place at Lexington Center, located at 430 W. Vine Street.

“We’re expecting a great turnout of over 500 guests for this year’s STARS Gala,” said Leslie Smart, CFRE, president, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “With support from generous donors and friends, we will continue to improve emergency services in the Lexington community.”

The 31st Annual STARS Gala will kick off with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 6:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation and dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Jessica Croley, MD, will be recognized as 2019 Saint Joseph East Physician of the Year, while Kevin Donohue, MD, will be recognized as the Saint Joseph Hospital 2019 Physician of the Year. The Hillenmeyer family will be recognized as the 2019 Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation’s Community Philanthropist of the Year.

After the program, guests will enjoy live music and dancing starting at 8 p.m. Bidding for the silent action will close at 10 p.m.

Last year’s gala raised nearly $140,000 for the Emergency Department Renovation Project. Over the years, the gala has raised more than $1.6 million for mission and outreach services.
