Saint Joseph Berea Honors Outstanding Staff With Employee, Leader of the Year Awards
BEREA, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2020) – Saint Joseph Berea has announced its 2020 Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year award recipients. Mona Hanna, RN, of Berea, a nursing supervisor, was presented the Employee of the Year award, and Rhonda Anglin, RN, of Paint Lick, manager of Cardiovascular Services, earned the Leader of the Year award.
Saint Joseph Berea annually recognizes one outstanding Employee of the Year who demonstrates the core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence.
“Mona goes above and beyond caring for her patients, taking the extra steps to make them comfortable,” a nominator said. “She is a team player and helps in all areas of the hospital when she is needed. Mona is one of the kindest nurses I have ever had the honor of working with, and I hope someday I can be half the nurse that she is.”
Hanna’s exceptional patient care and teamwork-focused work ethic motivates and inspires her colleagues. Whether it’s providing blankets to all of the hospital’s patients or relieving the COVID-safety hospital entrance employees to allow them to have a break, Hanna is known for treating all of her patients and the Saint Joseph Berea staff with the utmost respect and integrity.
Similarly, Saint Joseph Berea annually presents one employee serving in a managerial position with the Leader of the Year award. Selection criteria include an outstanding demonstration of leadership led by CHI Saint Joseph Health’s core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence.
“Rhonda strives to be exceptional while maintaining the best interest of her patients and her team,” a colleague said of Anglin. “She is smart, eager and always gives optimum effort. Rhonda will go out of her way to help anyone, she will be transparent and talk with you, establish ideas to make improvements where they are needed and will even buy you lunch. Rhonda continues to go the extra mile in all she does.”
Known for her kindness, approachability and positive attitude, Anglin is described as always being there for those that need her – from Saint Joseph Berea patients to her colleagues. Her compassion for others and dedication to her work echoes throughout the hospital.
Both award winners were recognized during a special virtual ceremony.
