WINCHESTER, Ky. (June 1, 2022) – Kayla Albright, FNP-C, has joined CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Winchester. As a family nurse practitioner, Albright helps patients achieve better overall health and establish preventive care plans. Her experience working in rural Kentucky has provided Albright with different patient experiences that have helped her fine-tune her practice methods and communication skills while focusing on the kind of provider she wants to be.
"I always try to educate my patients while helping them feel comfortable in a clinical care setting," said Albright. "I want to be a provider that can help them accomplish their goals; I never want to be a revolving door."
Albright earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Eastern Kentucky University with plans to go to medical school before considering a career in nursing. She returned to EKU and graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in nursing and then again in 2020 with a master’s degree in nursing.
“I look forward to helping my patients improve their overall health," said Albright. "Many people get discouraged when going to the doctor, but I never want my patients to dread coming in. By working to treat and manage overall health, we can prevent and treat comorbidities and chronic conditions before they become worse and affect other areas of life."
After completing her bachelor's degree, Albright worked at trauma centers at UK Healthcare in Lexington, and Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine. Upon graduating with her master's degree, she moved into private family practice at the Estill Medical Clinic. When determining her next career move, she says she considered becoming a travel nurse but ultimately decided to join the CHI Saint Joseph Health network after her interview experience.
"Immediately in the interview, I felt very welcome and knew I shared a lot of the same interests as some people here," said Albright. “I am excited to be part of this team and look forward to working in the Winchester community.”
When she's not seeing patients, Albright enjoys spending time outdoors with her seven dogs, and kayaking and hiking with her husband. She is looking forward to continuing her service to eastern Kentucky.
Albright is accepting new patients. She is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care, located at 1850 Bypass Road in Winchester. For more information or to make an appointment, patients can call 859.313.2255.
