Jewish Hospital To Unveil New Hybrid Operating Room - Archived
Jewish Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host an open house and media tour to unveil its new hybrid operating room. The hybrid OR was funded by gifts to the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation, also part of KentuckyOne Health.
A hybrid operating room combines a traditional operating room with an angiographic system enabling high-end imaging during endovascular procedures and other procedures. The room will be equipped with one of the newest robot supported imaging systems. Procedures are performed in close collaboration between cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons and cardiologists to ensure the optimal outcome for the patient. The hybrid operating room approach decreases morbidity, reduces risk of infection, shorter intensive care stay and fewer complications.
