Flaget Memorial Hospital Recognizes Outstanding Medical Staff and Leaders With Awards

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (May 13, 2024) Flaget Memorial Hospital has announced its 2024 Physician of the Year, Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year, Employee of the Year, and Leader of the Year award recipients. They will be recognized during the CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations’ Humankindness Gala on Saturday, May 18. This year’s recipients are:

  • Physician of the Year – Olivia Kelley, MD, Bloomfield
  • APP of the Year – Janette Yingling, Lexington
  • Employee of the Year – Barbara Hunter, patient care assistant, Bloomfield
  • Leader of the Year – Brooke Dadisman, BSN, supervisor, Birth Center, Bardstown

Each year, Flaget Memorial Hospital recognizes an outstanding Physician of the Year and APP of the Year who help build healthier communities and exhibit CHI Saint Joseph Health’s core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration. Dr. Olivia Kelley was nominated for Physician of the Year by her colleagues.

“Dr. Kelley is passionate about offering the latest, highest quality services to her patients in pain management,” her nominator said. “She treats her patients with respect and dignity, as well as those who work with her. Dr. Kelley approaches patient care on an individual basis, ensuring that each patient's treatment plan is the best option for them – no ‘one-size-fits-all’ –  and she works hard to ensure timely access to care for all patients.”

The 2024 APP of the Year is Janette Yingling.

“Janette has been pivotal in fostering a healing environment in the emergency department for our patients and their families. She shows compassion and ensures her patients understand and are part of the plan of care. Janette also collaborates with other caregivers while caring for patients and always lending a helping hand,” said her nominator.

Flaget Memorial Hospital also recognizes an Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year who go above and beyond their duties and demonstrate the health care system’s core values.

Flaget Memorial Hospital’s 2024 Employee of the Year is Barbara Hunter.

“Barbara goes above and beyond, contributing 100% of her efforts to her work,” her nominator said. “She’s a rockstar, picking up shifts frequently and never leaves her coworkers in a bind. She always pitches in and is excellent at multitasking, always helping the nursing staff with organization and clerical work at the desk. Barbara is a true team player who cares about her coworkers and her patients.”

Brooke Daidsman has been named the 2024 Leader of the Year, recognized for her outstanding leadership in a managerial position.

“Brooke truly demonstrates our core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and collaboration,” her nominator said. “She is always brainstorming additional education opportunities for the Birth Center team to increase their effectiveness and knowledge base to better our patient outcomes. She is a key driver with patient experience and often receives multiple compliments on leader rounding from our patients for her knowledge, excellence in her bedside manner and support of our caregivers and our patients.”
