BARDSTOWN, Ky. (Sept. 27, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Health has named a longtime Bardstown resident as the new Violence Prevention Program manager for Nelson County. Misty Roller, a Campbellsville native who has called Bardstown home for 14 years, will lead the Green Dot Program across local high schools and the Nelson County Community Coalition, focusing on empowering bystander intervention to prevent violence.
Roller brings a wealth of experience to this position. Prior to being appointed to this new role, she served as the Community Relations Lead for Nelson County Schools, where she fostered partnerships between students and local businesses. With a passion for service, Roller has been actively involved in philanthropy for over 15 years. She has held leadership roles as a National Beta Club sponsor at Thomas Nelson High School and served on the boards of the Dream Factory of Louisville and Opal’s Dream Foundation.
In her current philanthropic efforts, Roller serves on the boards of the UP Foundation, supporting Nelson County Schools, and Ardi’s Bears, a nonprofit organization that donates around 1,500 teddy bears each year to underprivileged children across Kentuckiana. Her dedication to the Bardstown community is also reflected in her role as a Bardstown/Nelson County Chamber Ambassador and as a Kentucky Colonel.
“We are thrilled to have Misty in this position,” said Jennifer Nolan, president, Flaget Memorial Hospital. “Her commitment to community enrichment and violence prevention will help create a lasting positive impact on Nelson County. We know her leadership will help drive meaningful change, and we look forward to the continued success of the Green Dot Program under her guidance.”
Roller’s personal motto is “Lead by Serving Others,” guiding her work in both her professional and volunteer capacities.
“We all have a role to play in creating a safer, more supportive community, and I’m honored to take on this position to lead such important work,” said Roller. “The Green Dot Program is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by empowering students to take action and prevent violence. I look forward to continuing to serve my community and working alongside others who are passionate about making Nelson County a better place for everyone.”
