Flaget Memorial Honors Employees with Daisy and Rose Awards for Outstanding Care - Archived
Bardstown, Ky. (August 27, 2019) — Flaget Memorial Hospital has announced the Daisy and Rose Award recipients for the second quarter of 2019. Brittany Stone, RN, Flex Team, was presented with the Daisy Award, and Kara Johnson, Occupational Therapist with Frazier Rehab Inpatient Care, was presented with the Rose Award.
The Daisy Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Flaget Memorial Hospital is proud to be a Daisy Award Partner, recognizing a nurse with this special honor every quarter.
Stone was nominated for the Daisy Award by multiple patients and a co-worker for her consistently kind attitude and caring demeanor. Brittany was described by patients as, “a nurse we will always want if we have to come back.”
“Brittany is extremely caring, never irritated, never in a hurry,” said a co-worker.
Stone received the Daisy Award certificate, a bouquet of daisies to display in her department, a Daisy Award statue and pin, and a cake that she shared with her co-workers.
Similarly, the Rose Award is a program that honors Flaget Memorial Hospital’s non-nursing personnel. The Rose Award, short for Recognition of Service Excellence, celebrates unsung heroes who work tirelessly to provide the best possible service.
Johnson was nominated by multiple patients for the Rose Award. She was recognized for her ability to motivate her patients, while always remaining patient, caring and supportive of their progress.
“It’s nice when someone likes their work and in turn gives that extra push you may need to get better,” said a patient. “Kara has seen what I can and can't do. She has increased my capabilities each time she worked with me.”
Johnson received a Rose Award certificate and pin, a bouquet of roses to display in her department, a hand-woven basket from Uganda and a cake that she shared with her co-workers.
