Dr. Maali Milhem Joins CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Endocrinology in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 31, 2020) – Maali Milhem, MD, has joined CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Endocrinology in Lexington. Dr. Milhem brings with her a passion for endocrinology and extensive experience in the field. After serving as an endocrinologist for a year and half at Pikeville Medical Center, many of her patients continue to seek her care today, driving more than two hours to her new Lexington location.

“My top priority is to have a good relationship with my patients,” said Dr. Milhem. “I believe we should treat patients like we treat our family, and we should respect their opinions and feelings about their disease.”

While working in one of the top 10 states for diabetes nationwide, Dr. Milhem is constantly exposed to the urgency for new technological and pharmacological developments in the field. This drives her devotion to working on challenging diabetes cases and focusing on providing the best resources and services for her patients, while limiting their vulnerability to complications.

Dr. Milhem received her medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and completed an internal medicine residency from the King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Jordan. When she moved to the U.S., Dr. Milhem completed her second internal medicine residency and a fellowship in endocrinology at the Marshall University Joan Edwards School of Medicine in Marshall, West Virginia. Dr. Milhem is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

Originally from Jordan, Dr. Milhem moved to the U.S. 10 years ago and has lived in Lexington for nearly a year. When she is not seeing her patients, Dr. Milhem enjoys traveling to new places with her husband and their four children.
