WINCHESTER, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2023) – Courtney Beisler, APRN, has joined the team of dedicated caregivers at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group –Primary Care in Winchester. With a strong background in nursing and a passion for treating patients like family, Beisler’s presence promises to enhance patient care with a holistic approach. Beisler believes in alleviating patients’ fears by creating a positive environment for healing.
“I try to make patients feel like family, and I think laughter is a good form of therapy, so the goal is to make people feel comfortable first,” said Beisler. “I want patients to feel comfortable enough so that they feel at ease talking with me about their health concerns.”
Beisler’s diverse experience in the medical field, from certified nursing assistant (CNA) to registered nurse (RN) and now an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), reflects her commitment to continuous growth and learning. She has served in various roles, from floor nursing to dialysis care, all of which have contributed to her holistic approach to patient care, and her love and desire to connect with whole families.
“I always loved the idea of primary care and treating patients throughout the lifespan. I like seeing babies, kids, teenagers, adults, geriatrics, all in the same day” said Beisler. “I love seeing whole families all at once and getting to know them. I also just try to treat patients like family.”
Beisler grew up in Kentucky, and said her journey in health care also began with strong family connections with two sisters as nurses, one a nurse practitioner and one a nurse manager. “My sisters have inspired me to pursue my path in nursing and I am thankful to have such wonderful influences in my life,” said Beisler.
Beisler’s educational background and experience in nursing equip her with a versatile skill set. She started her education at the University of Louisville and completed her Associate of Applied Science in nursing degree at Jefferson Community and Technical College in May 2017. In February 2023, she completed her Master of Science in nursing with a concentration as a family nurse practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and the NIH Stroke Scale for acute stroke assessment by the American Heart Association.
When she’s not serving the community of Winchester, Beisler’s love of music and family shines through, as she and her husband share a musical bond, playing piano and guitar. They enjoy watching their children participate in marching band at their high school.
Beisler is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Winchester, located at 1850 Bypass Road, Winchester, Kentucky 40391. To make an appointment, call 859.744.5111.
