BARDSTOWN, Ky. (Jan. 23, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Orthopedics at Flaget Memorial Hospital welcomes Andrea Stucker, PA-C, to its growing team. A Springfield, Kentucky, native, Stucker has practiced in Bardstown as a physician assistant for 12 years, including a previous tenure at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
Stucker credits the inspiration for her career path to her mother. “My mom was my biggest influence in pursuing medicine,” said Stucker. “I wanted to be a physician assistant just like her and help the people in my community have a better quality of life.”
Recognizing the importance of patient education, Stucker said she prioritizes involving patients in the decision-making process. She believes empowering patients to actively participate in their care decisions significantly contributes to their satisfaction and overall quality of life.
“I allow the patient to be just as much a part of making their decisions as I am,” said Stucker. “I’m here to help them make decisions about their care that result in the best quality of life for them and getting them back to what they love to do, so I focus on ensuring they have a voice in the process.”
Stucker started her medical journey as an emergency medical technician and paramedic. With a commitment to serve her community, Stucker earned her Bachelor of Science in emergency medicine from Eastern Kentucky University. She continued providing emergency services until she graduated with her Master of Science in physician assistant studies at the University of the Cumberlands in 2012.
With this new chapter, Stucker said she’s eager to begin seeing patients at Flaget Memorial Hospital, returning to a hospital she once served and seeing the patients who have followed her throughout her career.
Married with four children, Stucker said she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and keeping up with her kids’ latest sporting endeavors.
Stucker is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Orthopedic Surgery at Flaget Memorial Hospital, located at 875 Pennsylvania Avenue in Bardstown. To make an appointment, call 502.348.5685.
