CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group Honors Outstanding Staff With Employee, Leader of the Year Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2021) – CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group has announced its 2021 Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year award recipients. Marilyn Lawson, clerk, Health Information Management, of Lexington, received the Employee of the Year award, and Melony Douglas, manager, Clinic Practice, of London, was presented with the Leader of the Year award.

CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group annually recognizes one outstanding Employee of the Year who demonstrates the CHI Saint Joseph Health’s core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration.

“Marilyn is always on the lookout for patients who need help,” said Lawson’s colleague. “She could see someone struggling in the parking lot, and she will immediately run out to help them inside and to their destination.”

Similarly, CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group annually presents one employee serving in a managerial position with the Leader of the Year award. Selection criteria include an outstanding demonstration of leadership led by core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration.

“Melony always has such a great attitude,” said Douglas’s colleague. “She shows compassion to the employees that are under her, and to the patients that she comes into contact with. She makes working under her such a joy!”

Both award winners were recognized during a special virtual ceremony.
