LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2025) – CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations hosted a celebration Thursday for the newly consolidated Cancer Care Center at 3470 Blazer Parkway, Suite 350, in Lexington. This event marked the formal opening of unified medical oncology services into a new space that will provide more accessibility and convenience for patients.
“At CHI Saint Joseph Health, we are dedicated to bringing hope and healing to every patient,” said Matt Grimshaw, market president, CHI Saint Joseph Health. “This expanded cancer care center is a testament to that commitment. We are able to provide cutting-edge care and compassionate support under one roof, offering a more convenient and accessible experience for those we serve.”
In addition to services at the Blazer Parkway location, radiation oncology will continue to be provided at 701 Bob-O-Link Drive, Suite 120. The Cancer Care Center provides access to the latest cancer screenings, advanced treatments, comprehensive support services, and a dedicated team of specialists to help patients heal.
The ribbon-cutting also fell during the same week as World Cancer Day (February 4), a global day to educate the public about this deadly disease. Following the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to meet with physicians and learn more about advancements in cancer care.
Jessica Croley, MD, CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group -- Cancer Care, said the new medical oncology suite is “such a better healing environment for our patients and caregivers,” and recognizes the goal of “people-centered care.”
“People-centred care adds a focus on the health and well-being of entire populations or communities, aiming to improve healthcare systems and access for all. Ensuring that all demographics, geographies, have access to the most effective, least toxic therapy for their cancer and the support they need to complete it,” she said. “Here again, the team here at CHI Saint Joseph Health, excels, bringing not only new technology, but social workers, navigation, financial assistance, nutrition services to all regardless of the market.”
The newly renovated consolidated space was made possible through funding from the CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations.
“Our foundation has collaborated with oncology leaders for the past three years to make this consolidated space a reality,” said Delaine Thiel, CFRE, market vice president for philanthropy. “We are proud to support the efficiencies that improve patient care.”
Proceeds from the foundation’s April 26 Celebration of Humankindness event at Fasig Tipton will be used to support additional enhancements to the aesthetic environment at the cancer center.
