CHI Saint Joseph Health Announces Nine Scholarship Opportunities

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 28, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Health is proud to announce nine scholarships totaling $17,000 to support aspiring health care professionals across their Kentucky communities, including Bardstown, Berea, Lexington, London and Mount Sterling. These scholarships will help alleviate financial burdens for deserving students pursuing careers in critical health care fields. Associate, bachelor's and advanced degree candidates are welcome to apply to the applicable scholarship program. All application materials must be submitted by Friday, July 12, 2024.

“We are dedicated to fostering the next generation of caregivers,” said Delaine Thiel, CFRE, vice president of philanthropy at CHI Saint Joseph Health. “These scholarships represent our commitment to providing exceptional compassionate care for our patients today and well into the future.”

These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of current and past employees, as well as numerous donors who support the organization’s mission. This includes memorial gifts honoring exceptional health care workers and annual contributions from individuals passionate about supporting future generations in the medical field.

2024 CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation Academic Scholarships:

Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Scholarships – All markets (Bardstown, Berea, Lexington, London and Mount Sterling areas)

• John R. Gaines Scholarship for Medical Excellence - $5,000

Nursing and Allied Health Scholarships – All markets  (Bardstown, Berea, Lexington, London and Mount Sterling areas)

• Robert & Donna Hewett Scholarship - $2,500
• Phyllis Cronin Scholarship - $2,500
• Sr. Liz Wendeln Scholarship - $1,000
• Larry & Casey Schumacher Nursing Scholarship - $1,000
• Sr. Michael Leo Nursing Scholarship - $1,000

Healthcare Management, Nursing and Allied Health Scholarships – Bardstown area

• Bruce Klockars Scholarship - $1,000
• Sherri & Russell Craig Scholarship - $2,000

CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation Nursing or Allied Health Scholars – London area

• Patti Mink Scholarship Endowment - $1,000
