LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 4, 2023) – CHI Saint Joseph Health has announced its 2022 corporate Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year award recipients.

  • Clara Maciel, RN, educator, of Lexington, was recognized as Employee of the Year.
  • Ellen Fritz, director, human resources operations, of Richmond, was recognized as Leader of the Year.

Each year, CHI Saint Joseph Health recognizes an Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year who go above and beyond their duties and demonstrate CHI Saint Joseph Health’s core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration.

This year’s CHI Saint Joseph Health Employee of the Year is Clara Maciel.

“Clara is heaven-sent,” said a nominator. “She goes the extra mile just to help the international nurses. Clara is an excellent resource for us and always checks on us to see how we are doing. She’s always willing to stay longer to help us and offer extra hands.”

Ellen Fritz has been named this 2022’s Leader of the Year, recognized for her outstanding leadership in a managerial position.

“Ellen represents our organization with outstanding integrity,” said a nominator. “She is honest, fair and a cheerleader for all of us.”

All award winners were recently recognized during a special event and will be celebrated during the CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations’ Humankindness Gala in Lexington on April 15.
