CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center in Lexington Welcomes Physician Assistant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center welcomes Tori Therrien, PA-C, to its dedicated team of caregivers in Lexington. Motivated by her mother's breast cancer journey, Therrien brings a compassionate approach to patient care, aspiring to provide the same level of support and understanding that profoundly impacted her mother's oncology experience.

“I chose oncology because I find it very rewarding to be the person that helps guide and support a patient through their cancer diagnosis,” said Therrien. “When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, she had a great oncologist who listened and made sure she fully understood her diagnosis and treatment. It had a big impact on her journey and helped her become less fearful of the future, and that’s what I hope to accomplish alongside my patients.”

Therrien earned her bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2017. Therrien worked in St. Louis as an emergency room scribe and emergency medical technician. After earning her Master of Science in 2022, Therrien began her career as a physician assistant.

While this new chapter marks her first official position with CHI Saint Joseph Health, Therrien is no stranger to the health care system, having completed clinical rotations at Saint Joseph London while pursuing her master’s degree. Motivated by her love for science and connecting with others, Therrien underscores the significance of education in patient care, a principle she witnessed positively influencing her mother's journey.

Drawing from her personal experiences, Therrien said she plans to emphasize meeting her patients where they are and helping them to meet their goals in her new role at CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center.

Outside of patient care, Therrien enjoys being outdoors and hiking, and she is a self-proclaimed “foodie” who loves seeking out new restaurants.

Therrien is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center, located at 3470 Blazer Parkway, Suite 350, in Lexington. To make an appointment, call 859.629.7110.
