Vaginal birth is the natural delivery of the baby through the birth canal and vagina. It usually begins when the mother has labored until the cervix has dilated 10 centimeters. During the labor process, women may experience stress, discomfort, and even pain. Depending on the birthing plan the patient and physician have agreed upon, medication or other treatment may be applied to ease the situation.
Cesarean Delivery
A Cesarean section, also known as C-section, is a surgical procedure in which are made through a mother's abdomen to deliver the baby. This is usually performed when a vaginal delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk. There are a number of medical and obstetric circumstances that a healthcare provider would recommend scheduling a cesarean delivery in advance.
Vaginal Delivery After Cesarean Delivery
Vaginal birth after cesarean delivery is the vaginal birth of a baby after a woman has already had a cesarean delivery of a previous baby. There are several factors that will be determine whether a VBAC is a good choice for you.
