Preparing for Joint Surgery with Joint Academy
Joint Academy is an interactive class to prepare you for your upcoming surgery. The orthopedic nurse navigator, physical therapist and occupational therapist will share information with you and your support person, or “joint coach”, that will help you have a successful surgery.
During the class you will learn about:
- Pre-admission testing
- How to prepare for surgery
- What to expect the day of surgery, during your hospital stay and post-surgery
- The importance of early mobility
- Pain management during recovery
